Optum Forum 2017 started its second day with an early morning 5k run and an energetic mini-workout with Angela Davis, an international fitness evangelist, motivational coach and former member of the USA Track and Field Team.
Optum executives shared key insights centered on collaboration in health care, the role of data and analytics, as well as population health, care delivery and pharmacy services. Optum client Dr. Vaharia, Chief Quality Officer, Cleveland Clinic shared the impact using data has had on improving outcomes for their patients.
The session culminated in a discussion with Optum CEO Larry Renfro hosted by Executive Vice President Tami Reller. Renfro discussed the growth of the health care industry – from a $500 billion market in 2011 to an approximately $1 trillion dollar market today – and how Optum is transforming to meet this change.
In addition to these sessions, attendees have been taking advantage of networking opportunities in “The Hub,” our gathering place for sharing food and ideas. Our entertainment last night featuring the X Ambassadors left everyone energized.
Our week concludes with two inspirational keynote speakers at our closing session today, former NASA astronauts and retired U.S. Navy Captains Mark and Scott Kelly.
