Special topic: Transforming health care together at Optum Forum 2016

The health care landscape is being fundamentally transformed by two major forces — an increased focus on value and more engaged consumers. As the industry continues to evolve toward value-based care, every facet of health care is being asked to stretch in new ways.

For the third year, Optum is uniting over 1,000 executives and professionals from organizations managing and influencing the full spectrum of health care, including health plans, life sciences companies, government agencies, employers and provider organizations, along with Optum leaders and subject-matter experts to innovate and transform health care in one location.

Optum Forum kicks off on Tuesday, Aug. 23 with pre-conference educational sessions and welcome reception for all attendees. Leadership and Optum solution educational tracks officially begin Wednesday following the general session focusing on where the industry is today — and where we are headed — in the transformation of health care. Optum leaders and clients such as GE, Cisco, Wilmington Health and Lehigh Valley Health Network will share the progress being made in their journeys.

Throughout the week, health care executives and Optum solution clients will attend sessions led by industry and solution experts. Attendees will walk away with both insights on transforming their organization and a better understanding of how to maximize their technology investments.

In addition to educational sessions, Optum will host networking opportunities in our new Healthier is Here Lounge, where attendees will experience firsthand how Optum is helping people pursue healthier lives. Those eager to start the morning with movement can participate in group fitness classes and a fun run.

On Friday, we close the event with our inaugural Transformation in Health Care Awards, honoring Optum partners who best exemplify the pursuit of a healthier world through exceptional efforts in the areas of modernizing infrastructure, advancing care and/or empowering consumers. Plus, we are excited to host Michael J. Fox for an inspirational, closing keynote.

Collaboration across the industry is the key to successfully navigating the changing health care landscape, and we want everyone to be involved in this event. Even if you aren’t able to attend in person, watch for updates here or follow @Optum or #OptumForum16 to join the conversation.
